The Full Moon is fully illuminated and the Sun and the Moon are o apart. Its power will be strong as it is sitting in its ruling sign. The Moon is ruled be Cancer so its energy will be heightened, it feels at home in this sign. Cancer is a cardinal water sign so we need to be taking charge of our emotions , loyalty, family, intuition, feelings, bonds and connections with our self and others, creativity, all the intangible aspects of life.
This week we will be flooded with all these aspects and all the emotional things surrounding us. This week we will really feel what life is about , this includes really feeling what our relationships truly are both personally and business. This week we are going to be forced to feel our feelings so those of you in denial will not have a good week. Take note if you are an earth sign as you may struggle!
However we are all human beings, we all have feelings and sometimes we need to have a massive surge of emotions to get it all out of our system, clear the emotional decks and most importantly, it is how we go about change. This First Full Moon of is in a sign that is all about self-care. Cancer is all about taking care of you, nurturing you. This month self reflect and ask yourself.. Do you make sure that your needs are meet?
Do you have enough sleep? You time? The Calling of this month is to focus on extreme self-care.
The Full Moon is at 22 degrees. Now 22 is the master number of the builder, so all this emotional upheaval does have a purpose. This Full Moon will force you to do something, so take some time , think things through this week it is not a great time to make plans and take action. Instead it s a time to go deep and sit with your feelings, hear them as this will help us create change. So take some time, be in this present moment and figure out what will give you security?
What will give you joy? What needs releasing? What patterns need to be broken order for you to grow? What habits need to be released in order for you to better nurture yourself? The New Moon is in Sagittarius. As we know New Moons and Full Moons have significant influences on us as the energy is so powerful. The question you are going to ask yourself here is how can i express myself creativity and what new beginnings can i make in my creative life. What new doors could potentially open in your life? Today Venus is in Capricorn , Venus the planet of beauty and creativity and Capricorn is earthy and practical, so Venus is ready to work!
This square aspect also brings a wake up and shake up vibe energy into our love life, money situations and to help us create more beauty in our life. This Luna cycle is all about pulling in extra energy and getting ready for the next monthly cycle and starting a new again. New Moons are about planting seeds of intentions and really focusing on what you want to create for this month ahead. The moon is dark and makes us reflect inwards on what we really desire and require in our life.
The energy we are pulling in this month is Sagittarius energy. We might want to focus on some of the positive traits of the sign of the Archer , this includes being optimistic, enthusiasm, adventurous, honest, outspoken and independent. Optimism, passion and positivity is a main feature to focus on this month when creating your intentions. Sagittarius is a fire sign, and that relates to life purpose and creativity. Not to mention the New Moon happens in 7 degrees and the number 7 is all about creativity and mind-set.
So take time to do a simple New Moon ritual. You will want to try to complete the ritual after the exact time of the New Moon or within 24 hours. Let go of what you no longer need in your life or any aspect of yourself that you may have outgrown. The moon, being the closest astronomical mass to Earth, has a profound effect on us. When the moon is full, it is at its high tide of power, amplifying energies. The moon traditionally represents the emotional, nurturing, creative and feminine aspect of our lives.
When the energy is intense and as powerful as this, it enables you to take action, have you ever felt a pull or an urge leading up to the full moon? Many people feel this intensifying energy, it is a sign that you may need to release energies that no longer serve you, and you can do this by performing a Full moon ritual. The full moon period is a great time to take action towards your new moon intentions you made two weeks prior and is a great opportunity for some self-reflection.
A Full Moon ritual is a powerful way to invoke the intention of releasing and Letting go. You can purge yourself of any old identities, frame of mind, attitudes, behavior and situations. You may wish to take an inventory of thoughts and beliefs no longer serving you, clean out your possessions. Remember, you can release anything emotionally, physically, mentally or spiritually. You can also seek guidance from your spirit guides or angels to help highlight what is ready to be shed from your life.
Tools to help you connect with your guides include oracle cards, journaling and automatic writing, or mediation. Trust the guidance that comes to you, your gut instincts are usually right.

Arh nothing like a Full Moon Luna Eclipse in Aquarius on Thursday to help uproot all aspects of ourselves, no matter how hidden or buried deep with in. Luna Eclipses help us rid of ourselves of things that no longer serve us, our soul or our true divine higher self and life purpose. Luna eclipses are a cosmic tool the universe uses to get us to pay attention to areas of our lives that need change.
Luna Eclipses want us to change and change we do, whether we want to or not They are dramatic and work very rapidly in shaking us on an emotional level. Luna Eclipses have a way of pushing us to pay attention to all areas of our life that need changing or purging and force us into action.

What you need Pen, paper, lighter, candle, small bowls if you intend on burning your notes , water, sage and other personal objects such as crystals. Create a sacred space. Find a quiet, clutter free place to sit, place crystals or other special tokens around you. Clear your energy. Burn sage and clear your energy space, or you can imagine standing under a silver or bright white waterfall of pure light and allow all negative and lower energies to be cleared away.
Light the candle , Take a few deep breaths, center yourself and then begin to write on the piece of paper what you wish to release from your life When you have finished your list, sign and date the page. I ask you angels to please take this list for healing and transmutation, and I thank you, Amen. Use your intuition to guide you.
You may just want to sit under the moon and read your list aloud, or with a lit candle and not burn your page. You may want to meditate on what to let go of.

Having finished reading the whole section I'd suggest you plan during Capricorn - which loves planning, control and is highly focused - or Virgo - which loves order and is perfectionistic and then do exactly what she says "infuse your plans with drive and determination" during Aries. This was not the only time where the advice went against the energy of the moon and I found this odd. It seems to me that the point of a tool like this is to learn to ride the current of the energy that IS not to teach you to try to force the energy into constraints.
Maybe if there had been a section on what to constrain or watch out for i. Full Moon is the peak, it is completion, it's the baby exploding into the world, it's people finally oohing and ahhing over what you built. Why, in the name of all that is holy, at this point would you be releasing, and wrapping things up? Let's think about this cycle like sex. The New Moon is when you start waggling eye brows and making it super clear what you're interested in. The Waxing Moon is foreplay and getting into it. And Full Moon is the orgasm. No one, in the middle of an orgasm is like: Ok pull out and let's review how this went.
First you enjoy the orgasm, you celebrate, you reveal in making crap happen. The whole release, review, forgive and gratitude those are all actions done during the Waning Moon. A whole half cycle which our culture tends to overlook in a LOT of systems, btw. I theorize that you can't talk about the point in a cycle where plant seeds, and then talk about the point in the cycle where you get gorgeous flowers and get to celebrate what you grew and then The author knew she needed that coming down, but she doesn't mark another phase of the moon though she does clearly explain all 8 phases in the beginning and you can see how she has the Full Moon repeating what goes with the last few phases there so those things important to manifestation forgiveness and gratitude got shoved on to the Full Moon and we just skip celebration and sharing.
Adding a section on something like the Dark Moon would have allowed the three natural points and processes - Planting, Celebrating, Releasing - to be marked in the book without any weird twisting and shaping.

But that said, I DO have a lot of highlights through out the books. I went through and made a reference table for myself on the moon in various signs and houses. I got some good astrological specific information from the book like the fact that during the Full Moon the Sun and Moon are opposite each other in the chart. But I'm torn on who to recommend it to.
Technically I think it should be recommended to people brand new to astrology because it's written directly to them and it's got some great basic information. But it also has somethings that are forced and wrong ala Full Moon rant above so then they'd go into their studies with errors. Likewise anyone who knows anything about the Law of Attraction is going to find this to be a basic primer and it might be a little too woo to someone completely new to it though it is obviously written for them. Experienced astrologers will be annoyed by the little things that annoyed me.
And in fact, I have a friend I wanted to recommend it to for the "when the moon is here" parts, but I didn't recommend it because I felt like I'd also need to send notes about what to ignore in it and how annoying is that? Sadly, because I think a good basic book is exactly the thing I needed on my reference shelf. Oh well. View all 11 comments. Loved this. First foray into learning about the lunar cycles and how they relate to astrology and planning your life.
I am excited to read more books about this and to get more into how menstrual cycles and feminine energy relate to the moon. View 1 comment. Jan 12, Leigh rated it it was ok Shelves: one-year-one-day-studies , I know I don't, but that's kind of what happened with Moonology, which I feel kind of dumb saying now given that the title of the book is a made-up word, but sometimes the thrill of buying physical books to live on my shelves is too strong to resist.
As someone just beginning my studies of the moon, astrology, and other esoteric associations, I was disappointed. There are some interesting details and associations in this book, particularly around the new and full moon meanings and rituals, but it works much better as a quick reference book, not a truly educational resource.

Part of me wants to check out the author's website in the hopes that she has more for readers online, and another part of me is perturbed enough to not want to give her the clicks, especially given that much of this information can also be found online via a few quick searches. Feb 21, Natalia rated it really liked it. So I really wanted to love this book, I really did! As you can see I still gave it 4 stars as I really enjoyed it but at the same time the more I got into it, the harder it became for me to understand what the author was actually on about.
I especially found it difficult to know if I was just supposed to focus on my own specific sign and house or if I was to follow all the signs and the houses. I know astrology can be a hard topic to get your head around but I am still very glad I picked this book up. Yes, at times I was confused but I still really enjoyed everything that I learned whilst reading this book. I will definitely try to focus each month around the different signs and houses to be able to work on every aspect of my life as I love the idea of that.
This is definitely a shorter review than usual but I still hope you enjoyed and I definitely recommend this book to anyone who is interested in astrology, the lunar cycles, the moon, and just being more in tune with nature. I learnt about this book from one of my favourite Youtubers - Kalyn Nicholson. She is straight-up my spirit animal and I have always felt a gravitational attraction towards the moon, which is why I had the strong urge to purchase it.
It also helped that I got it at a slightly discounted price on Kindle because of some sale at the time I bought it.
Your Rising Sign -- What It Is and Why It Matters
Coming to the book itself - I loved the first half of the book inasmuch as it talks about manifestation and manifesting with the phases of the moon to I learnt about this book from one of my favourite Youtubers - Kalyn Nicholson. Coming to the book itself - I loved the first half of the book inasmuch as it talks about manifestation and manifesting with the phases of the moon to make them more powerful - I thought it was the perfect book to start the new year with.
It also helped, that the new moon is the time to send your wishes out into the universe - and the first new moon of was on the very first weekend Sunday of the new year. But then this book starts going into unchartered territories at least for me like manifesting according to what sign you are which was simple enough to understand your rising sign, and what constellation the moon currently is in according to the House you fall under your birth chart and by this point I was unable to keep up anymore.
I somehow struggled and skimmed through the end. Basically, it started out great but after a point it just got way too complex and technical for me to follow. But if someone is truly into astrology and has the knowledge to keep up with this, its a great book for them. Personally, I like reading about horoscopes but while being more than aware of the fact that it is not scientific or accurate or a reflection of how I am as an individual or cannot predict my future.
Due to my skepticism in its science, it is very difficult for me to take hardcore astrology seriously. Even the stuff in this book, I take with a pinch of salt. But these are just my personal views. If I was someone who was more interested in getting into astrology or moonology in-depth, I probably would have found this book super useful.

Easy to read book. Great introduction for beginners. For advanced astrologers, good for refreshing your memory. However, too simplified imo. Mar 03, Aline rated it liked it Shelves: , non-fiction , astrology. Because she talks about some very basic astrology things like 'Houses' in comparising with working with the moon. She does give a short overview for what the different 'Houses' are standing for, in case you don't know.
I liked it, but I was maybe expecting a bit more from it. Some things I already knew from other sources. I also never knew if I should pick my rising sign or my actual star sign, because my rising sign is Sagittarius, but my star sign is Capricorn and they're very! I'm kinda sad I didn't liked it more, but I'll definitely use it to work with it besides another moon book I have.
Apr 19, Natacha rated it really liked it. Such an interesting book! Loads of information.. Good advice in general! Would recommend to anyone into the woo.
Excited to incorporate into my routine. Dec 02, SA rated it liked it Shelves: craft-and-practice , I haven't encountered Boland's work before, so picking this up was a diceshot. Most of what I read from the section of the library is purely for research purposes -- I have a longstanding interest in seeing what is being published and becoming accessible in the paganish space.
So I picked Moonology up not so much out of an expectation of utility to my own practice but rather to see what other people are utilizing. There's nothing wrong with this system. Boland makes lunar ritual work accessi I haven't encountered Boland's work before, so picking this up was a diceshot. Boland makes lunar ritual work accessible, albeit geared more towards the "law of attraction" crowd than spiritual-religious folk. It's highly secular, in the sense that the late 20th and 21st century has made astrology in particular and prayer generally separate from one's spiritual or religious practice.
That is, "follow these steps to work towards your goals! It's so postmodern it hurts. But prayer and gratitude are important and effective no matter how it is framed, and it's in this sense that I am okay with this book and Boland's system. You can take it and incorporate it into your Pagan practice, your Abrahamic practice, your "hey universe! I'm generally in favor of anything that helps people become less shitty to themselves and others, whatever that path might be, even or especially when it's effectively irrelevant to my life, work, and practice.
Whatever gets you there. She strongly encourages the reader to interrogate why they might wish for a shiny car or hot romance, and is firm in her stance that her system will not work if the reader comes to it with blind ambition or greed or self-promotion. It doesn't really counter the whole materialism of the thing, and god knows without the materialism this would be far less saleable. But she sticks to her position when others who write and present on the subject enthuse mightily over what the practitioner gets out of it.
The most useful thing to me in Moonology is a quick reference guide to the characteristics of each of the astrological moons, nicely formatted and indexed. Boland's Moonology cards are aesthetically appealing and helpful as well, particularly as meditation foci or components for ritual or spellwork. Jan 03, Olivia rated it liked it Shelves: astrology.
I have a love hate relationship with this book. She included five appendices of information that I feel should have been introduced where appropriate throughout the book and leave the appendices for reference rather than key material. Being relatively green to astrology and to the changes and impact of the moon, I have a love hate relationship with this book. Being relatively green to astrology and to the changes and impact of the moon, I have a lot to learn. I dived into the book, highlighted A LOT, and inserted colored paperclips to mark key pages.
One "problem" is that Yasmin introduces the Rising Sign which is a more in-depth and appropriate - my words representation of yourself than the Sun Sign. But, as you work to understand all the material in the book, many times it isn't clear which sign to use. This is key because if you're able to use Yasmin's book as I believe she expected it to be used then it will be a personal experience based on your birth date, time, and location.
Yasmin references her moonology. She recommended that you go there to learn this and that. Problem is that many things cost money, AND things have obviously moved since she wrote the book so some URLs are incorrect. Lastly, although the book is busting with information I find it simply too difficult to follow easily. Minimally, it needs an index, perhaps additional appendices with the key charts e.
Yasmin needs to decide whether Moonology is meant to be a standalone book or a hook for readers to join her site and pay for things. Jan 11, Emma rated it it was amazing Shelves: non-fiction , self-study , lifestyle , spirituality. I coincidentally read this over the new year and now find myself planning a monthly moon routine.
